NEW PLAYERS!
Quite a few new players have submitted scores to me in the last fortnight, a couple of them even supplying proof pictures aswell. I'll probably start up the proof section again sometime soon. Anyhow, some players have done better than others so far, but be sure to check all of them out. (BTW, you may have to wait until November for me to make a Players' List update, after I've finished my exams).

MANY SCORES & NAI WRS ONCE AGAIN
The F-1 WGP battle has continued between Daniel Bertassi, Michael P\'f6lzl and the newest contender, Juan Sebasti\'e1n Ar\'e9valo. The Nai WRs seem to be switching almost weekly, so Michael gave me an adapted version of Mr. Liem's MK:SC spreadsheet to aid me in updating F-1. I haven't had much time to look at it yet, but I did take a squiz at the Total Times function and included a Totals chart at the bottom of the F-1 page. Michael is on top there at the moment, followed closely by the others!

A SCORE ... FROM ME?!?
Yeah, who would have thought. I've been busy in PD and GE this year but that's been it for the '64. Mr. Alvarado continues to pull away from me in the SSB Bonuses and when he gets an outrageous Nai WR he'll give me his strat alterations. Well I knew just about all of them I could do, and surprise surprise, I made a PR, on Link's BtT time. I fell short of Scott, and probably won't pursue it, but I'm maintaining my #2 spot in Totals.

Menu Bar - POC

A BIG CHANGE MADE
I had mentioned making a change to the Menu Bar awhile back, and it has now happened! Since the Menu Bar was so long and was around 20kb, I decided to split it into 2 parts. Now, the main menu which automatically loads in place of the old one has all the externally moderated N64 Games pages, like Kart 64 Players, The Elite, and others; the secondary menu or "Menu B" has all the games pages which are moderated by me. You can get to it from the main menu. All the Rankings and Walkthroughs are on the Main Menu, along with the Awards and Archives. I'll keep my fingers crossed that everyone approves of this change. =)

JUST A HANDFUL OF SCORES
The reason I did another update with so few scores was that I made the Menu Bar changes. After splitting the menu bar and cleaning up its HTML code I ended up with a 6kb and a 7kb file so it's all good! Now, we have 4 new scores for F-1 WGP from Michael P\'f6lzl, all new Nai WRs! We have a few scores from my sister Michelle for Mario Golf and one there from Derek Clark, a new Nai WR he was coached to by Whalls! We have a couple of new players submitting their first score(s) in various games, so welcome everyone!

ADDENDA
In addition I have made a couple of small additions to the site. The StarFox 64 Rankings page was missing a heading picture, so I remedied that and overprinted the StarFox 64 header with "RANKINGS". Also, thanks to Derek Clark I now have a suitable link to which complaints can be addressed. Check it out at the bottom of the new menu bar.

NAI WR CENTRAL
It's amazing but we've had an average of nearly 3 new, improved or tied Nai WRs per POD in August! Speaking of which, I have assigned Awards up to around the last update at the the beginning of August, so now the Awards match the POC for the moment. Until about the middle of November I shall be very busy because this year's Exams are the worst! I will see what I can do in terms of updates, though I may have to cut it down to just scores for the time being. Anyway, we have several players who made several nice Nai WRs recently, including a new F-1 WGP whiz from Columbia and good old Mr. Hasting who is still advancing in SSB64. On a similar note, his Walkthrough has been updated again so take a look.

MAIN AWARDS
I guess it won't come as much of a surprise that Daniel Hasting won the last Quarterly Award, especially as it's been displayed on the POC for the last fortnight. =) Other interesting awards were the POMs; Daniel got June, and Chris Rayola July. POWs were a little scattered - Daniel picked up three, Chris two, Isai Alvarado two, and Daniel Bertassi and Gavin Carper one each. Congratulations to all those players and all the rest who have sent scores!

AUTOMATION
I don't claim to be an Excel whiz but I have managed to make the Super Smash Bros. Rankings and the Zelda Rankings partially automated. I only need to input the points a player scores on each chart and adjust the others and the spreadsheet adds it up in a flash. Then all I have to do is update the Rankings pages with the new standings. It cuts down the time by around half but it's no Liem achievement. =)

ANOTHER N64 HIGH-SCORES SITE?
Oh yes, a PAL player by the name of Alex e-mailed me recently to tell me of his N64 score index. He has times for Mario Kart 64 amongst others, and also some of the Pok
\'e9mon games. If anyone wants to visit his site they can reach it from the link below:

APOLOGIES FIRST
I should make smaller, more frequent updates as it would help me get the Awards up to speed, but I rarely have spare time and when I do it's always enough to get a good full score update done. Sorry it took nearly two weeks but I had a monstrous amount of schoolwork to do (and I'm not searching for excuses either!). My apologies also to Darius Sidlowski who recently sent me his Blast Corps PAL scores. There were heaps of them and though I began updating the pages I didn't get them finished yet. I will probably have them done and uploaded on Tuesday, but I won't post a separate update on the Main Page though, so just keep checking!

COMMENDMENTS
Congratulations to Isai Alvarado, Scott Rogoff and Daniel Hasting for all their SSB64 Bonus achievements in the last fortnight. All three of them made copious improvements on their Totals. Congratulations also to Thomas Grandjean, who's submitted some darn good scores in Wipeout 64, Zelda OoT and Mario Golf. There're other small improvements by players too, so be sure to check out all the updated stuff. I'll try to get all the Rankings up to date shortly. Meanwhile, Nicholas Harvey's Mario party 3 (NTSC) page has been added to the Menu Bar. I also plan to make a few decent amendments to the Menu Bar soon so I'll run my ideas by you all next update.

TWO DAYS LATER...
I know I said this'd happen on Saturday, and it was going to, only I was called in for work. =\\ I didn't mind, and decided to do it Sunday morning before my registered shift. But Dad decided I should go out driving, so I had to oblige on pain of argument. =) This did, however, enable me to get the most recent scores updated!

PARTY MADNESS!
Wow! There's been way more activity here than in any other game! I know that the Mario Party series encompasses 4 score chart pages, but still, there's a remarkable amount of activity. On NTSC, Daniel Hasting tears up the charts with his new killer times, getting the #1 spot on NTSC with more than 70 points! On PAL Thomas Grandjean got 2 new times which, though they weren't Nai WRs, also put him into the #1 spot with a massive 80 points! On the second Mario Party Daniel Hasting and Jake Taylor-Elston send counterpart scores and Jake even got a Nai WR!

CRUIS'N RAYOLA!
Chris Rayola has picked up a game that he didn't play for over a year and got some remarkable times on all the courses, which gave him just about all the Nai WRs. This also put him on top of the Cruis'n USA Rankings. "Which are those?" you ask?, well take a glance to your left and you will find that Chris has kindly constructed a Rankings page for the game! A small note on this is that Adam Rose owns this game, so maybe I may play it at a later date... Chris has been playing GoldenEye a lot lately too, and I've made a few unsuccessful attempts to catch up to him there. =) He is also active in Perfect Dark still, I believe, and he got a couple of Nai WRs in Episode 1 Racer aswell, so even now he's a dangerous player!

SMASHING BUSINESS
There have been two guys making consistent improvements here. We have Isai Alvarado who just about doubled his lead on both BtT and BtP Totals. We also have Daniel Hasting who sent some amazing 1-P scores which put him into FIFTH place on the SSB Alternative Rankings! Both these guys made some pretty remarkable progress and Isai even increased his pointage lead on BtP! No, he didn't take the last WR; instead he broke the 3-way WR tie on Kirby's board thus knocking a point off Mike Lenehan and myself. Check out the Rankings to see the damage.

POQ CONTEST
That's right, there was one! Isai Alvarado, Thomas Grandjean, Gavin Carper and Daniel Hasting all made several large accomplishments last quarter. I will decide soon who gets the gold, but until then, stay tuned! On another matter, Jon Barber gave me permission to update the DK64 Rankings from now on too, so take a look.

PROOF...
Just a quick note to say that Thomas' Mario Party times will be validated as soon as I receive word from Ben Miller that he got the tape. Mr. Grandjean was primarily validating his Kart 64 times, but also included some Party stuff as a bonus. =)

OMG! RANKINGS?
Well I gave it a shot, and some of the Rankings have been updated. Zelda is an easy one to do so I usually get that done straight away. SSB64 is probably the hardest and I only had time to do one of them. Super Mario 64 is just simple and there aren't that many players anyhow. StarFox 64 I know a few of you were waiting for. Well now it's done! =)

FIFTEEN NEW NAI WRS!
Yep, we've been busy haven't we? It's nice to see that even now the community can achieve 10 new World Records in the space of a week. Sorry, no Awards assigned recently, but I did manage to get the Nai WR Chart up to scratch. That was a big job. I added charts for 4 pages which have newly been added to the site: Extreme G, Penny Racers, Turok 2, and Wipeout 64. I also combined the first 3 months of Archived news into one page as you'll notice. I plan to do this to the others aswell to make the Menu Bar a little shorter. With Jon Barber's permission I plan to update the DK64 Rankings too. On another note, there may be a new SM64 Nai WR in the making. Chris Rayola has been taught by Jon Barber how to do Match with Koopa and has tied me there now. He's only "2 away from Myles' Nai WR and hopes to tie or take it. Good luck Chris! It's tough!

NINTENDO GAME CUBE
For those of you who were asking about a GCN section of this site, this may interest you. I was approached this week by a guy under the pseudonym of Captain Cube, who has built up a site recently to list Game Cube hi-scores. It's not quite out of the development stage yet, but it looks okay so far. He wondered if I might enter into an affiliacy with him so that we'd both get a little more traffic. He also wishes to list some of the Top scores on this site, on his aswell, so the traffic boost may be even bigger. I said that I thought it was a good idea but of course I needed permission from the players themselves. For those of you that are interested in seeing the page he's got up, go to:

http://www.captaincube.0catch.com/

Or if you wish to speak to Captain Cube you can reach him at captaincube@lycos.com. If you want to speak to me about the matter then please e-mail vt2vulpex@hotmail.com and voice your opinion.
