Excitebike 64 - Star Fox 64 - Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire - Top Gear Rally

DON' MESS WI' TEXAS!
The Lone Star State is where I've been since the last update, and it's also home to two of the players featured in this update, one of whom won two PODs. Ryan Black improved some of his times, but Alex Hollingsworth was the star who lit up the Texas sky with a tied WR! Everything is bigger... and faster... in Texas!

NIXON NIXES NILSSON
Stephen Nixon returns to Top Gear Rally to "Top" the charts for the Coastline, taking Patrick Nilsson's place.

SWARTZ-ENEGGER
Bryan Swartz is pumping up his reputation at N64HS with even more new Excitebike 64 times, earning some new second place times, but no Nai WRs.

THE "WOLFF" IS STALKING YOU
Trevor Norgaard, who announced last week that "Wolff" is his middle name, returns with a pair of new Star Fox 64 scores, including making over 600 on Area 6... now that's worth howling at the moon!

Mario Party (PAL) - Star Fox 64 - Yoshi's Story

Mario Party 4, 5, 7, 8 (PAL)

CLEVER TREVOR
Trevor Norgaard must have been clever indeed to improve his Star Fox 64 scores so quickly. He tacked 70 points onto his Area 6 score! He also has wonderful improvements for Fortuna, Sector Y, and Venom!

THE BOOK ISN'T CLOSED ON KISMAN JUST YET
I've got my first new Yoshi's Story score of the year, although I failed to make a new WR. Thus, Derek Kisman remains in the number-one spot overall. But I'm still quite "Super Happy" with what I accomplished!

"WIR PARTY-EN"
Julian Revermann had a ball playing Mario Party, jumped to the top of another chart in Mario Party 5, and pummeled the competition in Mario Party 7. Meanwhile his brother Christian dominated in Mario Party 4 and Tobias Braner assaulted Mario Party 8.

ANDREW KENT STILL HAS THE DRIVE
It's time for another update, and we kick it off with new Drivers Ed times from Andrew Kent for Mario Party 2. All the times are big improvements and he gains positions with them. He also has a new Bobsled Run time and a tied WR in Pok\'e9mon Snap!

DON'T TEACH PRECH HOW TO PREACH
Phil Prech, the first of our two new players, has already tied two Nai WRs making his debut in Super Mario 64!

SUAREZ SQUASHED THE SPIDERS
Mauricio Su\'e1rez R. has returned to Hyrule, where he has defeated all 100 of the Gold Skulltullas. He also reeled in a big one...

BRAZILIAN BLASTS AHEAD IN STAR FOX
Felipe Willian has made three huge improvements in Star Fox 64, all gaining him places, of course. This game also brings us to our other new player, Caio Vinicius!

SWARTZ IS A "SPECIAL"-IST!
We wrap up another N64HS update with Brian Swartz, a player who joined in the last update as an Excitebike 64 player. Today he sends his first times for the Special tracks where he has already made a Nai WR!

BIKER BRYAN
Bryan Swartz is the first of two new players in our first September 2007 update, and he's here to show who's the toughest on two wheels. Though Matt Flees probably remains the overall champion, Bryan is giving him quite a run for his money, getting many of his WRs! All in all Bryan wants to see more competition in this game, and he's done his part already! Here's a POD, a POW, and a POM for your effort, Bry!

THE STAR OF THE NORTH
Josh Handeland is back! He improves his times in Episode I Racer and his profile in Perfect Dark, making one Nai WR on the latter! He doesn't get 10,000 PODs for it, but he does get one!

NEW "STAR" PLAYER IN THE MAKING?
Our second new player comes from the Golden State, the same state that Zack Allard calls home. Maybe it's all good luck for Trevor Norgaard, as he starts his Star Fox 64 career with the all-important Nai WR Tie on Area 6.

AN OLD FRIEND JOINS THE SPACE PROGRAM
Steve Ezeta also takes his first trip into space, and makes over 511 points on Area 6 for the Nai WR Tie.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH...

IT'S ABOOT TIME!
Finally, the big raid by Dave Phaneuf and the rest of the Canadian Mario Party players have hit the Mario Party 8 page! Dave and Miguel Lefebvre took many of George Harvard's original WRs! They haven't even gotten to the Decathlon yet!

RICKY IS VERY TRICKY
As if one Ricky on the Star Fox 64 isn't enough, let's add a second one that doesn't fool around! Coming from Canada, just across the border in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Ricky White is the real deal. He beats out Winfred Merdes to have the 3rd highest NTSC score on Area 6! But, with no photographic proof of the score just yet, I have to take it with a grain of "Sault". I have asked him for a pic.

Tip: if you have a VCR, record your Area 6 score before you enter your initials to get your score listed. The game subtracts 256 points from your score afterward and there's no way to see the real score again! When you're ready to take the picture, just play back the recording!

POTEAU FINISH
A long-time N64HS member, Nathan Stinson, one of my best buddies to chatter with, sends one time apiece for Beetle Adventure Racing and BattleTanx, tying a WR on the latter!

NEU REKORDE
Finally we've got some new Mario Party 8 and Mario Party Advance records from our old German friends Julian and Christian Revermann. One of Julian's best scores in Mario Party 8 was beaten by someone off-site, so he had to get back his world record! He and Chris have a couple of scores on the Game Boy Advance.

Our Australian power trio of Andrew Kent, Michelle Kent, and Adam Rose are back today with new records in Star Fox 64, Super Mario 64, and Super Smash Bros. Andrew made some impressive improvements in Star Fox 64, such as tying one of Manfred Rieder's scores! He also has tied Myles Bukrim's second place time in Super Mario 64.

SAM MASTERS FEATHERS AND FUR
Sam Yanzito, from the Badger State, is better with bears and birds. He sends his first times for Banjo-Kazooie, including a finish in under four hours!

Paul Arndt is competing with someone who shares his first name, taking some of his top three spots. We're talking about Paul Burgum, of course, whose standing in this game continues to take a beating from Germany. The WRs of this week and last have earned him the first POW of the month.

Paul Ardnt has sent times for ALL the missions in Blast Corps! He has tied at last two Nai WRs in the game and has made a lot of top three times as well! He really is proving himself to be a major force in the PAL Blast Corps community!

NEW PLAYER TAKES UP BLASTING AS A HOBBY
Brian Smith, our newest player, began his N64HS career as a Wave Racer, but he's decided to take up a more destructive hobby. His first Blast Corps times (which are NTSC, and thus can't be compared to Paul's) include a new Nai WR.

FIRST ONE AT THE PARTY
George Harvard, who established himself as a major player in Mario Party 7, is the first NTSC player on the charts for the game's sequel. Though all his records are Nai WRs by default, will they still be in the top spot after the inevitable onslaught by Dave Phaneuf and his cohorts?

NEW PLAYER MAKES WAVES
It's only natural that our newest Wave Race 64 player comes from California, cause, you know, riding the motorized watercraft in this game kind of looks like surfing. Brian Smith makes his debut with ten course and lap times, and stays in his home state for a San Francisco Rush time.

Fredrik Armfelt has lapped up his first Nai WR in Super Smash Bros., getting a No Damage Clear with Yoshi. He also sends a speed run time for Super Mario 64, where he's got plenty of room for improvement.

CALIFORNIA SENDS SECOND PLAYER TO GAME BOY PAGE
The bonus section (games not for the N64) welcomes a new face from the Golden State, Lester Graham, who's got his name in gold on two charts in Super Mario Bros. DX. He sent his first scores for the game, only covering the first four worlds at present, but he has already tied two WRs.

Players List

YOU "ARNDT" READY FOR THIS
The German drive to dominate Blast Corps, which may or may not be connected to the push for German supremacy in Star Fox 64, grows one person larger today. Paul Arndt, making his debut with a Nai WR, adds even more fuel to the fire that David Schiering started!

WIR HABEN EINE NEUE SEITE
It's a new page at N64HS, and so far, it's all German. "Wii" have just created a page for Mario Party 8, with records from Julian, Christian, and Tobias! Did I mention that Julian has already made a perfect Decathlon score in this game?

MANFRED'S "STERNKRIEG"
Today's update continues to be dominated by Germans, where in Star Fox 64 Manfred Rieder makes a HUGE improvement on his Area 6 and Total Hits scores, because he found the NTSC version of the game! In fact his new Total Hits knocks Zack Allard out of the top three! But in return, Zack Allard has taken a top three score from Manfred, and we have a new player in this game as well...

FREDDIE'S AS QUICK AS MERCURY
They call mercury "quicksilver", and Fredrik Armfelt is quick today, so why don't we call him Freddie Mercury? ...Anyway, Fred has new times in Mario 64, and new scores in Super Smash Bros., where he has taken my top ten spot in the Total chart. He also shows his quickness in the Bonus rounds.

ALEX IS N64HS'S QUICKET PLAYER... BY A MILE!
Alex Penev has shown that he can outrun anyone else at N64HS. He has beaten a landmark WR... by nearly a full second! Take that, Myles Bukrim! By having the his name listed first on the Super Mario 64 page (and that's quite a prestigious achievement, as Super Mario 64 was the first game released for the Nintendo 64), Alex has not only won the game's second Power Star, he's also won both a POD and a POW! It may be possible for someone else to beat Alex's time... but I'd have to test them for steroids before putting their time up!

FAILURE IS DESCENDING UPON "FAILURE WARNING"
They call him "Failure Warning" but Paul Burgum is the failure today, losing two more Nai WRs to rival player David Schiering. It's doubtful that Paul is still the Blast Corps champ if this keeps up!

I'M NOT SHOCKED
Kyle Sinclair has finally made the time he wanted in Super Smash Bros., a time under 20 seconds on Pikachu's Board the Platforms course, although he has not perfected the WR strategy.

ZACK CAN "PLANET" BETTER, I SUPPOSE
Zack Allard has outdone Dimitrij Jarowoj! In Fortuna and Sector X, Dimitrij Jarowoj has improved his scores, but has not gained a place with either score. But Zack Allard gains two places with a single score on Zoness!

FRED MOVES AHEAD
Fredrik Armfelt, the new player from Sweden, continues with a few new Super Smash Bros. 1-Player scores, and his first Nai WR Tie in Super Mario 64. He too has a Koopa the Quick time but Alex Penev has run rings around him today!

MANFRED TAKES ANOTHER AMERICAN TOP THREE

NO BIG AWARDS FOR THE AMERICANS
The POW, POM, and POQ all go to Germans today, which really doesn't make a lot of sense. But the players did earn their awards! We're saluting Vanessa Zoeke for her second round of Blast Corps WRs last week, David Schiering for taking WRs from both Vanessa and Paul Burgum throughout the month, and Manfred Rieder for his hard Star Fox 64 work throughout the quarter culminating in his first WR! It's clear that the top three Star Fox 64 players are all German. Sadly, our American players are falling further and further behind.

AMERICANS DOMINATE TODAY'S NEW SCORES
All of the players with new scores today, however, are from America, though two of them are from South America. We've got a ton of new E1 times from Tyler Wishall and a new Super Mario 64 time from Nate Bonnett in the US of A, while in Brazil, two players (one of them brand new) have new scoers to show.

Remember Vanessa "Pandora" Zoeke from last month? She has stricken again! Vanessa, who is currently away from home in Berlin and attending college, makes a half dozen more WRs, especially from Paul Burgum, and may have even more WRs for us when she gets back home! I say that Michelle Kent's days of being known as N64HS's best female player are about over with! We have never before had a female player strive so much to dominate a major N64HS chart.

DAVID MAKES IT A DOUBLE WHAMMY FOR PAUL
As if losing six WRs to Vanessa isn't bad enough, Paul Burgum has parted with another pair of WRs at the hands of David Schiering, who himself wants to dominate BC. Shall we expect a battle of the sexes? Will Vanessa jump on the BC band wagon and start taking WRs on the NTSC page as well?

IRISH IN SPACE
Steven Carmody may not be the first Irish person to venture into the Lylat System (I am part Irish myself, and so are possily many other Star Fox 64 players) but he is still the first player from Ireland to be on our charts! Off of the Nintendo 64, we've got another handful of Nai WRs Made in Germany. They're from Julian Revermann, who achieves the second ever perfect time in Bob-Omb X-Ing, and sets several other new records in Mario Party 4!

But with his new Obstacle Course time, he now not only has ALL the Nai WRs, but one of them is his and his alone. He is the first ever player to reach 18,500 points in the overall Rankings and for the first time since 46" was broken in Damp\'e9's race, we've got a sole champion!

WINFRIED "DESERTS" SECOND PLACE
They say it's lonely at the top. Well Winfried Merdes is even lonelier atop the Titania chart than before, distancing himself from Dimitrij Jarowoj's second place (and former WR) by another ten points. On any other day (well, except the day before!) he would have won POD. It's quite an unfortunate coincidence that WR-scoring Winfried has missed out on PODs not once, but twice, due to other players making even better WRs in other games.

WE'RE RUNNIN' WITH THE SHADOWS OF THE... EMPIRE!
I'm still not finished with Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire-- I have beaten another of Myles Bukrim's times for a fourth place, and got a new fifth place, and I have now beaten all but three of the programmers' times in the game's ending credits.

TIM COMPLETES HIS WR COLLECTION
From first to last, the peak is never past: Timothy Klebetz has tied the last Nai WR in Ocarina of Time, for the Marathon. Now can he get the unshared Obstacle Course WR he's been after so that he can reach a new height on the Rankings that has never before been reached?

SHIPPING MY SHADOWS TIMES UP THE CHARTS
The Imperial Freighter Suprosa has given me a ride to a new height on the Shadows of the Empire charts: fourth place, and I had to beat Myles' time to get there. I also made fifth place by getting under six minutes in the Sewers of the Imperial City. Maybe I should hire in at Roto-Rooter. Who knew that Dash Rendar could be as good of a plumber as Mario?

A TITANIC CONUNDRUM
The decision on who to give today's POD to is one of the hardest we've ever had to make. Two spectacular WRs were set by different players-- Kyle Sinclair broke another Super Smash Bros. WR, while Winfried Merdes broke the Titania WR in Star Fox 64. They both deserve a POD for their achievements, but of course two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Because Kyle had to shave off more than a full second from his old time to get his WR, his WR impresses me more than Winfried's. Congratulations Kyle... and better luck next time Winfried!

THE FORCE IS STILL WITH ME
I am still playing Star Wars, and have made two more top-five times. Also, George Harvard (NOT George Lucas!) has some Decathlon scores in Mario Party 6.

Kyle Sinclair is excited about his new Nai WR in Super Smash Bros. He has topped the Link chart.

TIM NEARLY RIDES INTO THE HISTORY BOOKS
Timothy Klebetz is working on two more Nai WRs in Ocarina of Time. He is one second away from the Marathon Run WR, and in Obstalce Course he still isn't giving up on his efforts to be the first player with a time of 45"! He is pretty sure he can do it. Tim... don't forget to take a picture if you pull it off!

CASTING SOME "SHADOWS"
I played a little bit of Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire yesterday evening and got a new round of times. I gain positions with all of these times, making the top five on one chart, but no top threes just yet.

POM IS A RARE FEMALE WINNER
We're giving the Player of the Month to a female player, something we have probably never done before (unless, of course, we one gave it to Michelle Kent!) Vanessa Zoeke is more than deserving of this award for showing her intention of challenging our resident champion Paul Burgum to the Blast Corps PAL crown!

MEETING OF N64HS PLAYERS IN AUGUST
Nathan Stinson is announcing plans for a meeting of N64HS players, particulary Mario Kart 64 players, in the state of Virginia this summer. If you are interested in coming, contact him! Just don't necessarily expect me to show up... (Someone has to update N64HS!)

Our newest player is a girl, and one of our very best! Vanessa "Pandora" Zoeke is a PAL Blast Corps player. She has made ten Nai WRs... I can't wait to see what Paul Burgum has to say about this! (One must wonder, with most of our female players being the sisters or girlfriends of male players, if Vanessa is actually David Schiering's girlfriend...)

MORE KRUNCHING TO DO FOR JULIAN
Julian Revermann continues to work on the Tetris-like "Koopa Krunch" mini-game in Mario Party Advance. He improved his score today but is still in third place and a long way from his friend's WR!

GERMANS RULE THE DESERT
For the first time since Namibia became independent, Germany is in control of the desert. Winfried Merdes has a new Star Fox 64 score on Titania that makes the top three all-German. Chris Little has a few new scores in this game as well.

We're awarding a record 10 PODs today to all the players who sent scores while I was away in Texas. Let's do a very quick summary: Paul Burgum is steadily getting back all his Blast Corps WRs, Simon Archambault made a new Deku Scrub Game WR, Tyler Wishall has new Star Wars Racer times, Steven Weerdenburg has a new Super Mario 64 time, Bruno de Vasconcelos Teixeira outdid himself at Boarding the Platforms, Julian Revermann is playing Mario Party Advance again, and, of course, Manfred Rieder has new Star Fox 64 scores! (So do Felipe Willian and Rodrigo Castelo Branco Herzog, who also made PODs with their scores.) Yee-haw indeed!

Today's two-day update is dedicated to Joseph "Joey" Crain, one of my second cousins, who was killed in a car accident Sunday night near Picayune, Mississippi, at the age of 37. I did not update yesterday because I was in Picayune for his funeral, and family comes first!

LEAVING AGAIN
This is my last update before returning to Dallas. Manfred Rieder has four new Star Fox 64 scores that are good enough for both today's and yesterday's POD. He tied Winfried Merdes's Bolse score, beat my Sector Z score and reached 4th place on Solar. If there are new scores tomorrow I may update from Lake Charles, where I will be stopping along the way.

Alternating back and forth between being in Texas and Mississippi is really changing my N64HS updating schedules. But hey, going to Texas is a lotta fun. And we plan on going to Mexico this summer. THE GRACES OF THE ACES
It's a great time to be a top Arwing pilot-- today's POD as well as last month's POM and the first POQ of 2007 have all been won by the Star Fox 64 community. Zack Allard more-than-deserves his POQ for his astouding progress in the game, culminating with a surprise third-place Total Hits score. It's enough to make him the POM for the second straight month. More recently, Rodrigo Castelo Branco Herzog, who turned 17 yesterday, has returned to the pilot's seat with a brand new Nai WR on Corneria, complete with a YouTube video!

EARTHBOUND, BUT STILL QUITE MOBILE
George Garcia might not have wings today, but he's got some great legs. He runs and jumps his way to the first POD of the new quarter with a quarter-second improvement from his (currently) only record at N64HS.
