LET'S WELCOME A SMASHING LEGEND
Brand new to N64HS is Mathieu Delage, the Super Smash Bros. Melee champion from the south of France. He's better known as "Thieu McCloud". Not surprisingly, he makes his N64HS debut with scores for the original Super Smash Bros., where he has some pretty "Nice" Break the Targets times. He says he has scores for 1-player but he doesn't have them written down, and his N64 is away from home!

Blast Corps (All NTSC Pages) - Cruisin' World - San Francisco Rush - Star Fox 64 - Super Mario 64 - Super Smash Bros. (All Pages)

JUNIOR'S BACK!!!
Top story of today: the return of Brazilian player Luiz Roberto, Jr. He took WRs in Super Smash Bros. and Blast Corps. In Super Smash Bros. he has left Andrew Kent with few Nai WRs in 1-player, and tied a Board the Platforms Nai WR!

EVEN MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM?
Also from Brazil, we've got some great new times from Guilherme Ferreira Graciano. He took a Nai WR in Blast Corps, and he and Luiz have also sent times for Super Mario 64, Super Smash Bros., and San Francisco Rush.

ADAM & YVES (PIER-YVES, THAT IS)
We can't leave out these two guys, either. They were active yesterday and they're active today too, in the same games. Pier-Yves made 4th place in Florida without the Speed Demon, which he says he'll be getting soon! He thinks he can take the Nai WR on Florida when he unlocks it!

FORTUNA-TE
Finally for today, I have a new score in Star Fox 64 which gets me back in the top three, back ahead of Winfried Merdes.

PIER-YVES STILL CRUISIN'
He's not done yet. He keeps cranking out those new times, and he says he's 33% to getting the Speed Demon car. We can't wait to see what times he'll get with the Demon!

PIER-YVES CRUISES THE WORLD
We have four new times by Pier-Yves Lemire for a new game: Cruisin' World. They're quite good considering the fact that he hasn't yet unlocked the Speed Demon, which he says he will get eventually.

OTHER STUFF
As far as scores go, the only other thing we have is a Majora's Mask score from Lawrence Brown. You'll notice I made some changes on the menus; firstly I have changed Menu B to the "Game List" because I thought that name made more sense. Also I moved the two Zelda games to the middle of the list so they'd be alphabetized as "Legend of Zelda" instead of "Zelda".

PIER-YVES A SMASHER!
Pier-Yves has been working on several games lately. He improved many times in F-1 World Grand Prix and took the last Nai WRs in Mario Party 2 Drivers Ed, but he's also sent his first Super Smash Bros. scores. Though most of them aren't great (he is just starting out, after all), he's already beaten one of my scores... should he be proud of himself, or should I be ashamed of myself? :-)

NATHAN STINSON ON THE LINKS
Nathan Stinson keeps working on his golfing records. He's sent three more Speed Golf times and his first Stroke Play score, which beats mine! (In case you're wondering, I have made
-20 without saving and quitting... against my father. I've got all the courses unlocked and all the characters... except Metal Mario.)

YET ANOTHER COMEBACK!
We have yet another player making a comeback! Nathan Stinson, the guy from Poteau, Oklahoma who rents all of his games, makes a comeback in Mario Golf, with a great Speed Golf time that misses Andrew Kent by about 15 seconds, knocks Thomas Grandjean out of the charts and puts me in last place!

CORRECTION
Also involving Nate is a major correction in the Mario Party 2 tables. I, Pier-Yves Lemire, and possibly a few others have agreed that Nate's time on Drivers Ed 2 is incorrect. I finally confronted Nate with this and we have agreed that his real time is 31"50, not the impossible 21"50. This means that Pier-Yves Lemire took four Nai WRs in Driver's Ed yesterday!

Pok\'e9mon Snap - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Pok\'e9mon Snap Rankings - Pok\'e9mon Stadium Rankings - Main Menu - Player of the Charts

NEW PAGES
We've expanded N64HS with many new pages on this "Leap Day". Andrew Kent created a page of Award winners before 2000 (Iacopo started giving Awards at the beginning of 2000; Myles Burkim has the distinction of winning the first one ever given) Andrew assigned PODs and POWs to some players that sent scores prior to this. He has updated Player of the Charts to reflect this. Victor Lima has created a Rankings for Pok\'e9mon Stadium and also updated Pok\'e9mon Snap (though Andrew Kent is the *official* updator of Rankings, Victor Lima and I can do them too).

SCORES
As far as scores go, there aren't too many today. Andrew Kent takes the POD for a Zelda achievement: becoming the 6th player (and the 2nd Australian) to reach a time of 57 seconds in the Marathon race across Hyrule Field. Other than that the only new scores are a few Pok\'e9mon Snap from Vitor Miranda.

LEAP YEAR FACTS
You think a leap year is every four years, right? Well the rule is a bit more complicated than that. A leap year is every four years unless it is a multiple of 100, in which case it is not a leap year. Unless it is a multiple of 400, in which case it is a leap year. Except when it is a multiple of 4,000, then it is not a leap year. ;-)

Brazil's finest are continuing to improve on their Pok\'e9mon Stadium records, which gave Diogo Azevedo today's POD. Though no Nai WRs were taken today in that game, the Brazilians clearly left their mark!

BUSY OUTSIDE THE STADIUM, TOO
Brazil's players have just plain gone to town on their N64 games today. Luiz Roberto, Jr. has many new records for Super Mario 64 and Zelda, plus a couple of Nai WRs in San Francisco Rush; Guilherme Ferreira Graciano worked on his Zelda and Blast Corps.

ACROSS THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE
We have some new scores coming out of Australia today, too. Adam Rose worked on his Break the Targets and a couple of 1-Player scores; his neighbor Andrew Kent improved some of his 1-Player scores, too.

"GL\'dcCKWUNSCH", DIMITRIJ
The only scores to come out of the Northern Hemisphere today were from Dimtrij Jarowoj from Germany, who made his incredible Macbeth WR in Star Fox 64 even more incredible. He also draws closer to Andrew Kent's new Nai WR in Venom.

RANKINGS
Two Rankings pages have been updated: Star Fox 64, and Super Mario 64. I lost two positions in the Star Fox rankings to Dimitrij and Phil, and nobody has 100 points in the Rankings anymore due to thse guys.

NEW LINKS

RETALIATION
I've improved some of my Star Fox 64 scores in reponse to Dimitrij's attack, including Aquas for the second time in two days; this is quite an awesome score (especially when you consider that I used to be too low for the top ten) and I even have proof of it in the Proofs Page. It's not quite a Nai WR, but it's still a very good score. As far as the other scores go, I didn't gain positions from them, but I did improve Bolse (my oldest score), so I can now say that in the past couple of months, my scores have gotten a complete overhaul.

PLATFORM PROGRESS

STAR FOX 64, POSSIBLE PAGE SPLIT
There seems to be a paucity of new scores from other players lately, so I give myself 2004's first POD. I worked some more on Corneria today, improving by just two points. If I improve two more points, I'll tie Andrew Kent's NTSC record (and the system world record, unless Greg Ihnatenko used NTSC for his score). Andrew Kent has a page that lists all his best scores for each version of the game, and in some levels, his PAL score is markedly higher than his NTSC score. So it may only be possible to reach 300 on Corneria with a PAL game? For now, we'll keep all the Star Fox 64 charts in one page, but if I ever watch a video of a PAL high score or play a PAL game and find extra enemies, or any other nuances that allow for higher scores, I'm separating the Star Fox 64 page into NTSC and PAL just like the Mario Party games. Which would bring Andrew Kent and I both a lot of new Nai WRs, because we hold many NTSC system world records. (Andrew Chan, despite being from Canada, uses the PAL version)

I will be out of town for two days (Jan. 10th & 11th), so there will be no updates that weekend. Just letting you know ahead of time.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

LET'S MEET THE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Born June 26, 1987 in Brazil, Victor Alexandre Reggiani Germer de Lima (or simply, Victor Lima) has earned the Player of the Year award for the hard work he put into his Nintendo 64 scores throughout 2003. A sampling of the things he's done to get this award: Now that deserves some recognition!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE OTHER WINNERS
We certainly can't leave Bruno de Vasconcelos Teixera out of this awards ceremony. He has made very nice records in Super Smash Bros. and Quake II, and even tried his hand at F-1 World Grand Prix. So he wins Player of the Quarter, which covers everything from October 1 through December 31.

Thiago Milles Carvalho Dias made sure Brazilians swept the New Year awards with his Mario Party 2 progress, which deserves a Player of the Month award for December.

Way to go, guys!

NEW YEAR MEANS NEW ARCHIVED NEWS
I decided to go ahead and give the front page a fresh start. The December 2003 updates (except the one I accidentally deleted!) are on a new Archived News page. I shouldn't have to tell you where the link is now should I? :-)
